irregular: (that went way over my head)

[The Dreamberry turns on to reveal a fascinating shot of what appears to be someone's ceiling. After a few moments of this, the top of Ken's head can be seen.]

--doing anything, I don't think it's... oh. Oh right, so it is working. Press and hold. Okay.

[A brief moment of confused motion and Ken, frowning in concentration, is peering intently into the camera as if he expects it to do something amazing; a brief silence while he presses randomly at random keys.]

Right, now what?

[A young girl - Aya-chan - can be heard laughing a short distance away. Ken momentarily turns to her.]

"Say something!"

But I haven't called anyone yet. Don't I have to call someone? This is a phone, right?

[His frown has, if anything, only deepened. A few more moments pass, which Ken mostly spends staring at the screen in complete bafflement, before he looks up. The Dreamberry is tipped backward, once again showing a fascinating view of the ceiling and what could possibly be some kind of light fitting.]

"You already have-- you just called everybody! It's recording now-- say hello."

What, so people are listening to me like right now?

"Yes."

[Ken looks back down at the screen again, looking rather panicked.]

Oh. Oh, crap. Um... sorry. Sorry. Bye.

I teach art, Ken. He's not trusting me with the mathematics skills of our future economists, don't worry.

But don't you have to be qualified to be a teacher? I didn't think you could just pitch up with a paint brush and get an art class out of it.

Persia qualified me. I'm sure he included a bribe in there somewhere.

Christ, and I thought having us work as florists was weird. So how's that suiting you, then? Being a responsible educator now and all.

We still live above a flower shop, if it makes you feel better.

I can ask any of the other teachers to sit for hours with me as my "model." It suits me fine.

[Yeah, Ken's thinking he must have guessed right as to why Youji was into art in the first place.]

... and people are paying you for this?

Well, didn't they used to pay you to kick a ball?
