[The shop is the least of his concerns, though. Hadn't even crossed his mind until Ken brought it up. They didn't need Aya because he was essential for the shop. They needed Aya because he was a cornerstone of psychological strength. Losing Aya felt like losing the hub of the wheel. The rim might keep all the spokes in place, but it wouldn't hold weight without a center of support.
